Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS "Courtesy costs so little; yet means so much," is the slogan and' project of the student council elected elec-ted Monday at Grovecrest School. The new officers, who will serve during the month of January are as follows: Glen Warnick, president; Kathleen Kath-leen Rawlings, vice president; Sherry Green, secretary; John Thomson, treasurer; and Stacey Huntsman, Patty Turner, Nancy Hillman, Patty Jones, Lois Boyer and Robyn Hall, class representatives. represent-atives. ESNi Mrs. Edna Newman has returned return-ed to her Remedial classroom at Grovecrest School after an extended extend-ed period of absence due to illness. ESN Walter Brock, Grovecrest Sixth grade teacher, is currently receiving receiv-ing treatment at the American Fork hospital. His students are being be-ing instructed by Mrs. E. M. Williams. Will-iams. ' ESN Miss Alice Parker, Alpine District Dis-trict Primary Supervisor will attend at-tend the Grovecrest faculty meet- ing Thursday afternoon. She will demonstratae special methods of teaching music. ESN January 10 is "Stamp Day" at Grovecrest School. Mrs. Sadie Beck, representing the Women's Clubs of Pleasant Grove, will conduct con-duct the sale of U.S. Savings Stamps. . As a stimulus to the sale the film "Power Behind the Nation" was shown to the students on Tuesday. These monthly films are supplied by the United States Treasury Department. ESN State Representative Orville Gunther will be the guest speaker at Central School PTA meeting, Friday at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Gunther will speak on "Current Legislation Relative to Education." Musical numbers will include accordion ac-cordion solos by Lonnie Olsen and songs by the Sixth grade girls chorus. PTA president Mrs. Joan Jensen will preside. ESN Two University of Utah Seniors are at Central School this week, completing their five days of "Out of Town Observing." They are Eldon Dixon, Farmington, Utah, and Fred Clawson of Salt Lake City. |
