Show Building Permits for 1956 Total $656,700 in Pleasant Grove Building permits issued for construction con-struction in Pleasant Grove totaled $626,700 during 1956, according to a report just issued Monday by building inspector Harold Smith. There were 84 permits issued for various types of buildings during the 12-month period, Mr. Smith said. The valuation of the 1956 permits per-mits is somewhat under that for 1955. Total for a year ago was $1,341,450. Mr. Smith explained that the apparent "decline" in total tot-al valuation was due to the fact that the Central Elementary School addition and the Battle Creek Heights subdivision were included in the 1955 compilation. A breakdown by months of the permits issued in 1956 reveals that May was the month of greatest activity, closely followed by January. Jan-uary. Totals for each of the 12 months are as follows: January, $108,000; February, $27,000; March, $28,850; April, $66,000; May, $110,000; June, $64,600; July, $50,000; August, $50,150; September, $22,000; October, Octo-ber, $83,500; November, $3,700 and December, $12,000. Total, $626,700. Mr. Smith released statistics regarding the number, type and valuation of the various kinds of building projects as follows: New Residences, 48 projects, for $464,000; Additions to Residences, 14 projects for $21,900; Garages, 14 projects, for $13,800; New business busi-ness buildings, 2 for $31,000; additions ad-ditions to business buildings, 2 for $10,500 and other types of construction, con-struction, 4 for $85,500. The last item includes an industrial plant for $85,000. An analysis of the 1956 report indicates that the progress of the Pleasant Grove City area is steady and encouraging. A. near half-million half-million dollars for new homes during dur-ing the last year is evidence of solid growth. |
