Show Baseball Prospects At PGHS Look Some Brighter Prospects for a competitive baseball base-ball team at PGHS look brighter each day, since the weather has warmed up a bit; and the boys have worked out some of the preseason pre-season kinks in arm and leg muscles. Coach Guy Hillman released a list of probable "regulars" in a news release to the Review, last Tuesday. The boys regarded most likely to succeed include: Don Hales, c; Jim Thornton, 1st; Kay Giles, 2nd; Dan Buckner, 3rd and pitch; Jay Johnson, ss and p; Nile Shumway, of ; Gerry Fordham of; Bill Trimble, of, and Johnny Butt, oof. Others trying out should give Coach Hillman a fairly deep bench. They are, Paul Gillman, Gary Richins. .Tav Schoonover. Dennis Choniak, Jim Cobbley, Lew Dev-eraux, Dev-eraux, and Rulon Hone. To start things off, the Vikings traveled to Payson Monday afternoon after-noon and bearded the Lions 11-10. The league schedule will get underway un-derway today April 12, with the Battle Creek boys playing the Cavemen at American Fork. The remainder of the Viking schedule looks like this: April 19, P. G. at Lehi. April 23, Juab at P.G. April 26, BYH at PG. |
