Show Freedom Crusade Drive Supports Radio Free Europe People of the Pleasant Grove area will be given the opportunity again this year to support Radio Free Europe by contributing to the Freedom Crusade. "This year, as in several years past the campaign will be sponsored spon-sored by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 70," said Mrs. Karl Banks, unit president. No door to door canvas will be made, but cannistars will be placed plac-ed in business houses during the days of the drive, March 17-31, Mrs. Banks said. Last year our townspeople were very loyal and we anticipate the same splendid support this year, she added. In support of the Crusade for Freedom, President Eisenhower said, "I have long- since given the Crusade for Freedom my strong endorsement. I did this because I am familiar with its purpose. I know the people who conduct it and I know of the hard-hitting effectiveness of its purposes and accomplishments. It is our best way of g-etting- truth behind the Iron Curtain." The 1960 campaign will be directed dir-ected by Miis. Margaret Atwood, secretary-treasurer of Unit 70 Auxiliary. |
