Show ELEMENTARY School News The PTA organization of the physically handicapped children of Alpine School District met on Wednesday, Feb. 22 at London School. Speakers were Bob Sand-strom, Sand-strom, Orem, who spoke on "Fitting "Fit-ting the School Program to the Children's Needs" and Sup:irvis-or Sup:irvis-or Dean Worlton, who reported progress of Special Education in Alpine District. Featured also was a program given by the physically handicapped handicap-ped children. ESN "Teacher Appreciation Night" will be sponsored by the Central School PTA at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Thurs-day, March 2. All employed personnel per-sonnel of the school will be honored. hon-ored. ESN A goodly number of -the parents par-ents of Central School's children child-ren are enjoying the school lunch this week. The purpose of the "eating out program" is to give an opportunity for parents to sample the daily menus prepared for boys and girls. ESN Children of Mrs. Leone Told's room at Central School welcomed 'her back to work Monday. Mrs. Told has missed 30 days of teaching teach-ing because of Illness and hospitalization. hos-pitalization. ESN Dean Worlton, supervisor of pupil personnel of Alpine District visited the faculty meeting at Grovecrest Thursday. He discussed discuss-ed problems pertinent to grading grad-ing and rententtion. ESN Fourth grade teachers met at Grovecreat Tuesday afternoon to participate in a reading demonstration demon-stration by Miss Dale Ringger. Miss Ringger is the representative representa-tive from Scott-Foresman Publishing Pub-lishing Co. Miss Margaret Johnson, John-son, distriot supervisor, also was in attendance. ESN Parents have been invited to school at Grovecrest on Thursday for Parent's Visiting Day. Appointments Ap-pointments have gone into the homes giving parents the time they can visit. Parents are encouraged en-couraged to take advantage of this opportunity of coming to the school. |
