Show Community Fair Last Thursday Enjoyed by Pi. Grove People Although rather sparsely attended, at-tended, Pleasant Grove's annual Community Fair and Flower Show was good. The fact that the schools were nut in session made impossible the, attendance of the teachers and students by class. This was unfortunate, since the youngsters seom to enjoy the exhibits wen more than the adults. As usual, the flower show, sponsored by the local Garden Club, was a riot of color and artistic ar-tistic arrangement. Considering the dry summer and the advanced s?ason, tile variety and excellence of the blooms was remarkable. Not many hobbies were on display dis-play this year. However, those exhibited ex-hibited were interesting and of excellent quality. Long tables, extending throug-out throug-out the Junior High gymnasium htid the handiwork and needle-craft needle-craft of the Relief Society Ward oi anizations. Many of the pieces vre high class in every respect. No farm produce was on exhibition ex-hibition except that displayed by the local FFA Chapter. What there was of it, was of high quality qual-ity and interesting in variety and arrangement. According to those in charge of the fir.e art exhibit, more pictures painted by local artists were on display last Thursday than on any previous community fair. This speaks highly for the growing interest in this cultural activity. The health exhibit arranged by Mrs. Lucile Page, public health nurse locally, was helpful and stimulating to those who want to Improve themselves physically by following the simple rules. President Jess Monson of the Pleasant Grove Lions Club and general chairman of the fair, expressed ex-pressed thanks and appreciation to all those who cooperated so willingly. |
