Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Students at Central School are awaiting expentantly the coming of "O Connor's Fire and Magic Show" which is slated for presentation pre-sentation today, March 21, at 12:30 p.m. Two performances will be held- in order to accomodate the entire en-tire studentbody. Trained lovebirds and acts of Oriental, European and American magic will be featured. ESN Members of the Pleasant Grove Junior Chamber - of Commerce have been busy at Central School lately installing playground equipment. equip-ment. The equipment includes swings, merry-go-rounds, trickie bars, slides, and basketball standards. stand-ards. ESN After a five-day spring vacation Central School students are back at work. For the past month Dean Abegg's Sixth Graders have been studying the United Nations. Each student has selected one or two countries in the U.N. and made a puppet and flag representing the countries chosen. They have taken the project of writing to foreign countries in order or-der to secure pen pals. Topics being studied at present regarding the U.N. are as follows: History Organization, Future, Headquarters and Staff, Membership, Member-ship, Purpose and Authority, One group is making a model of the future U.N. Building, Stamp and Flag. Everybody at Central is enjoying enjoy-ing the spring weather 'and looking look-ing forward to the end of May. Can you guess why? Christine Hill, reporter ESN In Lynn Beamson's Sixth Grade Class at Central School we are studying about South America. We are collecting stamps of all the nations. We are also making a relief re-lief map, and a products map of South America. We have started to study about oil. We saw a film about oil. Mr. Beamson told us about his visit to an oil field. We are all going to write a report on the importance of oil in our lives. Sharlet Slade and Sirlene Giles Reporters ESN The FFA Boys under the direction direc-tion of Instructor Willis Banks, have volunteered to prepare the ground and plant the lawn at the Grovecrest School. The work will go forward at once. ESN "Every Day with the Kindergarten" Kinder-garten" is the theme for the special spec-ial program for parents at the Central School at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27. Parents Par-ents of the Kindergarten children are cordially invited. |
