Show Lindon Slates Clean-Up Week For April 7-13 Says Council Clean-up week for Lindon City has been slated for the week of April 7-13, it was decided at the last regular meeting of this city's councilmen. Members of the council coun-cil urge all residents to participate in the clean-up program and have their rubbish in suitable containers reidy for pick-up April 12 and 13. Regarding a community dump for this city, Mayor Harold Keetch announced that the dump site originally or-iginally serving Lindon will be open op-en March 29. Amerioan Fork will take over ov-er the supervision of the grounds, the county will help finance the project, and the railroad will furnish fur-nish the cover. Due to increasing job demands on Leonard Walker, who serves the city as road and water-master as well as town marchal, the city fathers voted a $50 a month salary sal-ary increase. Mr. Walker will now receive $350 a month. Councilmen are still scanning Lindon for a piece of property to purchase upon which to erect a shelter for city equipment and will meet this week to consider a parcel par-cel in west Lindon. Road improvements in south Lindton were scheduled to begin Monday. Since the city now has several hundred feet of four-inch pipe on hand, the mayor suggested that councilmen consider the job of replacing re-placing old water lines with new in west Lindon where they are so urgently needed. Work on this project pro-ject is supposed to get underway this summer. Councilman Ivan Blain presented present-ed a import on a meeting treating the b' nutificajtiion of the Lindon School grounds. Blacktopping surface sur-face under playground equipment along with lawn planting is on the agenda, the school standing the cast of the above items. Lindon School children will raise the budding bud-ding plants, Lindon Lion Wendyl Jaivis will draw up the landscaping landscap-ing plans, and the city fathers have pledged their help by offering to donate the necessary equipment for hauling top soil. Ribbons for .the Lindon Gardien Club's spring festival will be supplied sup-plied by the city, councilmen decided de-cided at this meeting. |
