Chairman Smith stated that all committees of the Lions Club sponsored affair, which will take ' place in the high school gymnas- j ium and auditorium, are working overtime to make the 1951 edition ! an unforgettable occasion. Products from field and garden are now being selected. FFA and 4-H groups are assembling then-displays then-displays and prize animals. The flower show is assured of success because the women are taking care of all the details. Cultural displays are being collected, Chairman Chair-man Smith said. LIVESTOCK EXHIBIT All judging will be classified accoiding to the Danish system, A-B-C-D. Ribbons will be awarded to all exhibits classified as A-B-C. Judging will begin at 9 a. m. All animals must be in appointed appoint-ed place for exhibit no later than 8:30 a. m. Expense moneys in the follow-amounts follow-amounts will be given to all livestock live-stock and poultry exhibited. Cattle Cat-tle and horses over six months of age per entry $1.00; under six mo. of age 50c; Mare and colt, cow and calf entered as pairs receive $1.00. All swine and sheep six months of age or over 50c. Sow and litter or ewe and lamb entered receives $1.00; pen of chickens or turkeys 25c; All pets 25c. Pets will be classified clas-sified at the time of registration. All dairy and beef cattle six months of age and over must have been tested for bangs within the last six months and be free, of the disease. Livestock will be released to take home at 4 p. m. Beef Cattle Bull calf, under 6 months; Bull Calf yearling; Bull Calf, 2 years old; Champion Buli; ' Heifer calf under 6 months; Heif- er calf yearling; Heifer calf 2 years old; Champion Cow. Dairy Cattle Bull, 3 years or over; 2 years and under; Senior yearling: Junior yearling; Calf 4 mo. and under 1 year; Cow, 4 years and over; 3 years and under 4; 2 years and under 3; Heifer. Senior yearling; Junior yearling. Hogs Boar 2 years or over; Boar 18 months under 2; Boar 1 year under IS mo; boar 6 mo. un-12; un-12; Sow 2 years or over; Sow 18 months under 2; Sow 1 yr under un-der 18 mo.; Sow 6 mo. under 1 yr. HOMEMAKING The purpose of this department is primarily educational, and aims to create an interest for better homes. Premiums will be offered for exhibits to stimulate stim-ulate desire on the part of the women of the city to give their utmost endeavors toward the improving im-proving of every phase of the work. The women of the community commun-ity are urged to enter their wares. SEWING AND NEEDLEWORK Class 1 Household Accessories; Class 2- Fancy Work; Class 3 Older ladies work. COOKING Class I- Canned Products: Fruit, Vegetables, Dried Vegetables Vegetab-les and Fruit; Baking including bread, cakes, pies, cookies. Soap. Exhibits are open to all boys of Pleasant Grove and vicinity. The entry njust be made or grown by the person making the exhibit. |
