Show When only a few drops of !emo juice are needed, puncture the skin of the lemon with a fork and gen tly squeeze out the amount of juice needed. This eliminates the waste that occurs when a lemon is cut, as it keeps the remaining lemon juice fresh. When eggs are scarce, a medium-sized grated raw potato may be substituted for the egg usually used in a meat loaf. The potato will bind the mixture together iust as the egg does. Leftover vegetables can be perked up if they're served with browned butter to which a few bread crumbs have been added. |
