Show 4-H Clubs Now Being Organized; New Members Welcome 4-H Clubs are now being organi-in organi-in Utah County according to Jennie Jen-nie v J. Poulson, Utah County Home Demonstration Agent. Girls who are interested in becoming be-coming club members and mothers moth-ers who are interested in having their daughters become members should contact Mrs. Poulson of the County Agricultural Agent's Office in Provo or Mrs. Merrill Warnick. 4-H Club is brought to the youth through the Cooperative Extension Service of the Utah State Agricultural College. The purpose of the program is to help in making good future citizens. To do this women act as volunteer leaders for a group of girls who make up a 4-H Club. The girls organize their clubs on a Democratic Demo-cratic basis, and conduct their meetings according to parliamentary parliamen-tary procedure. Girls in their club work carry on projects centered around the home, such ' as foods, clothing, home improvement and home beautification. Many times routine work of the home becomes important import-ant to the gfrls and takes on a new light when it becomes a part of 4-H project work. Club girls are also urged to be good Community Citizens by doing a project that will make their community a better place to live. |
