Show FFA Sweetheart Selected- At Halloween Party At the FFA, GAA and PTA dance Halloween night, Friday, October 13, the Pleasant Grove Chapter, Future Farmers of America, Am-erica, the Chapter Sweetheart was selected. The girl chosen to represent the chapter here and at the state convention next spring is Connie Newman, senior at the Pleasant Grove High School. Her attendant attend-ant who will go with her to the state convention is Colleen-Chris-tensen, also a senior. Close runners-up and lovely contestants all the way, were G&yle Thorne, senior, and Rita Rae ! Morin, a sophomore, who is attending atten-ding her first year at this school. The announcing of the Sweetheart Sweet-heart was made by Mr; Holm, after af-ter Mr. Banks, chapter advisor, and Gary Carson, chapter officer in charge of the Sweetheart contest con-test had counted the votes. Mr. Holm presented the Sweetheart with a. red corsage and each of the three other contestants a white one. The dance was a success and everyone there seemed to have a good time. There was plenty of fun and laughs at the Kangaroo Court and Jail and there were do-nuts do-nuts and cider, hitching post, fortune for-tune telling and the fish pond went over big under the PTA, and the cake-walk under the FFA. The GAA had charge of the spook alley and it was well done. They also got the movie that was seen after the dance in the auditorium. aud-itorium. The name of it was "Bat Whispers." Committees in charge of the dance were, Miss Conder, and Mr. Banks, advisors, Don Wadley, Jared Anderson, Gary Carson, Ed- die Oscarson, Jeanette Shannon, ; Geraldine Golden, Francine Mc-Causland, Mc-Causland, and Wilma Louder, main committee. Those who made and helped with the spook alley are Renae Orton, Jewell Olpin, and Geniel Simper, Duane Shults, Dennis Walde. Those who helped clean up the mess the next morning and really made it look nice after cleaning up were John Richins, Jay Johnson, John-son, Ray Jarman, Glen and Reed Hooley, Ronald Harris, Roland Robinson, Gary Carson, Guy Goff, Jay Schoonover, Arlen Atkinson, Don Wadley, Ronald Iverson, Mer-lyn Mer-lyn Pack, and Francine McCaus-land McCaus-land and the clean-up was supervised super-vised by Mr. Banks, chapter advisor. |
