Show A "Rebuilding Schedule" At Pleasant Grove High School Has Now Been Completed A new departure at Pleasant Grove High School a "rebuilding "rebuild-ing -schedule" has now been completed, com-pleted, it was announced Thursday Thurs-day by Principal Floyd S. Holm. Chief objective of the "rebuild- ing schedule" is to departmentalize department-alize the high school, and, aa much as possible, to have teachers teach-ers instruct in their major and minor fields, he said. At the same time, Principal Holm announced the attendance and scholastic policy of the school for 1951-52. Every effort shall be made to have students ouf of the halls before be-fore the second bell rings. Attendance must be carefully checked in every class every day by roll call, or some other dependable de-pendable method. In another part of the attendance attend-ance policy Principal Holm states that credit shall be cut two tenths ten-ths for the first 20 days absence, and two tenths for each succeeding succeed-ing 10 days in each class where absence occurs. "Special cases of excessive, legitimate leg-itimate absence may be taken under advisement for credit evaluation evalu-ation by the faculty. In all cases, however, a time limit of 30 school days shall be fixed beyond no make-up work assigned will be received and applied. But of course, cour-se, when a student is ill we don't want him to attend school," Principal Prin-cipal Holm said. In another part of the policy dictum it stated that sluffs count as five absences for classes sluf-fed. sluf-fed. Three tardy marks shall also count as one absence. Number 7 of the attendance policy pol-icy states in part that 10 days shall be allowed for excused absence ab-sence for school functions without loss of credit. Students must be excused by the principal, and they must be under the direct supervision super-vision of the teacher responsible for the activity. 1 Finally, the policy on attendance attend-ance warns, students expecting to be absence for any part of a day shall bring a written excuse from home in the morning of the same day. This excuse must be submitted to the office before school begins. If excuses are valid a list of students so excused shall be sent to teachers before beginning begin-ning of the second period. |
