Show Lyean Johnson Candidate For UEA Presidency Lyean Johnson of Pleasant Grove5 president of the Alpine Teachers association was endorsed as a candidate for the Utah Education Edu-cation association at the closing session of the Alpine district teachers' teach-ers' work shop, Friday afternoon at the Lincoln high school. Hite name was presented by Calvin Walker, who urged unanimous support sup-port of his colleague at the election in connection with the fall convention convent-ion in Salt Lake City. Mr. Johnson has served as president pres-ident of the local association for five years. He has served on state association committees in regional conference work and he is gener-1 ally recognized as one of the leading lead-ing educators of Central Utah. A film. "Human Growth" was shown to the teachers and PTA officers by Mildred Allred. supervisor super-visor of the health district No. 1 , David R. Mitchell, superintendent, superinten-dent, conducted the session and presented matters of interest to the teachers, including the necessity necess-ity of holding regular fire drills. He also "pointed out that teachers would be expected to spend at least 7'j hours per day in the school plant in order to do the job properly. |
