The bulldogs bull-dogs led during the entire game, but the Vikings fought hard to overtake their lead.' The Vikings plnyed a fast game, but weren't too successful on their baskets. The entire team had the support oj' the students present. And the students and team showed their ability to be good losers. If we keep our good sportmanship we 'feel that's as Important as winning the game. The score at the half was Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove 10 Provo 20. The final score was Pleasant Grove 2(, Provo 43. Mary Louise Adamson 7th and 8th GRADE ASSEMBLY The seventh and eighth grade enjoyed an assembly Friday, the sixth grade. Mr. Rees' seventh grade class put on a play pertaining pertain-ing to Lincolns birthday. The rest o'f the program consisted of mixed numbers. It was enjoyed by all who attended. Mary Richins GIRLS' BASKETBALL On Thursday last,, the eighth of February, the Pleasant Grove girls' basketball team journeyed to Lehi to play an exciting game. The Lehi girls are fast and furious players and won both games by large margins. mar-gins. The score of the first game was 10 to 20. The second game was a score of 13 to 35. After the game all retired to the cooking room where refreshments j were served. Although our girls lost, they came home good sports and are waiting anxiously for their next game. Betty Greene VALENTINE ASSEMBLY An assemlby was held on Valentine Valen-tine Day. It was sponsored by the Sophomore class under the direction direct-ion of Miss Banner. One of the highlights of the assembly was a Sweetheart dance which was also directed by Miss Banner. This was one of the most entertaining assemblies as-semblies we've had this year. Betty Greene MARCH OF DIMES' Annual March of Dimes Drive for the aid of those stricken with infantile in-fantile paralysis got underway last week in the P. G. High School. Students Stu-dents showed their concern for this worthy cause by contributing $7.27., Ememline Kirk SOPHOMORE TEAM Our Sophomore team suffered its first defeat of the league season at the hands of the Provo Bulldogs. Bull-dogs. Our fellows played a good game if ball but could not overcome over-come the lead the Provo juniors piled up in the first half. The final score was 30 19. Mary Lou Matthews A. F. GAME American Fork will entertain the Vikings in a basketball bout this Friday, While the Cavemen are favored the Vikings promise to put up a hard fight against the powerful power-ful A. F. quintet. A victory against the American Forkers will require all the efforts of the Vikings as the Cavemen have defeated Provo, last year's state champs. Lincoln is the only other team in the district which has also defeated the Bulldogs' Bull-dogs' Richard Whitehead I I LINCOLN GAME We did it! And we did it in convincing con-vincing fashion. The Lincoln Tigers were no match for our Vikings in Tuesday evening's basketball game on the Lincoln floor. Every Viking deserves equal praise because each j did his part thoroughly in the victory. j The score was 29 25. FoNow-in FoNow-in this, hambergers and drinks were served at Mr. Jensen's outdoor out-door fire place. The party was an enjoyable success. G. H. S. Smoker was a great success. The crowd was large and enthusiastic; the game between the Provo Steel-ers Steel-ers and the P. G. All Sarts displayed dis-played a great amount of sensational sensat-ional basketball in spite of the score of 108 to 50 for the Steelers; and the boxing bouts between boys of the school were well staged and fought.
