Show Lyean Johnson Elected Head Of Teachers . Alpine school district teachers heard of the uses and values of audio-visual aids in classroom, instruction in-struction In the concluding: sessions ses-sions of the preschool work shop and institute Thursday. Dr. Lynn Bennion, euperintend-ent euperintend-ent of the Salt Lake City Schools, led an afternoon 'panel discussion on "Counseling and Guidance Services in the Schools," summarized summar-ized by Dr. George A. Pierson, dean of students at the University of Utah. A third session, the annual business bus-iness meet was under the auspices of the Alpine Teachers association officers. Final business was election elect-ion of officers for the coming school year, with Lyean Johnson, Pleasant Grove high school, as president, and J. Ferrin Gurney, Lehi high school, reelected viice president. Directors were named to two-year terms as follows: Mel-vin Mel-vin Beckstrand, principal Sharon school, succeeding Boyd Davis, Lincoln high; Calvin Walker, Central Cen-tral school, Pleasant Gro,ve, incumbent, incum-bent, Principal, Ivan PeYry, Alpine1, was elected to serve the unexpired term of Vernon K. Neilson, who has moved. Thorval Rigby, Lincoln high school, is holdover director. ' Teachers of the district and partners were guests Of the Geneva Gen-eva Steel Co. Friday on a tour through the company's plant south of PI. Grove.
