Show GOOD NEIGHBOR POLICY TO AID FOOD RODUCTION The good neighbor policy -will be needed here at home if farmers do their part in winning the war, W. R. Holman, chairman of the Utah county U S D A war board, said today. to-day. He pointed out that with a limited lim-ited labor supply and the need of making the most efficient use of farm machinery, there will need to be more cooperation in the use of this machinery and more exchange of labor. Farmers should keep in mind that farming cannot go on as usual this year. Cooperative use of farm machinery, ma-chinery, both new and that now in use, offers many possibilities for conserving steel and labor vital to arms production without curtailing the production of Food for Freedom. Free-dom. The exchange of labor will offset off-set in many instances the loss to farms of many of the young men called into service. Conservation of tires can be made by doubling up in trips to town. Cooperation in repairing machinery and the use of tools will help to overcome shortages brought on by the war. But all through this cooperation there should be a sense of fair play, the war board chairman said. This emergency should not be taken as a means of getting by through imposing im-posing on the good neighbor spirit. However, farmers can meet many of the problems brought on by war through a friendly spirit of cooperation. coopera-tion. And the nation is looking to the farmers to do their share by producing the food needed to win the war and write the peace. |
