Show Is Your Home Ready For Inspection "Pleasant Grove residents, are you ready for a visit from the beau-tificaUon beau-tificaUon iiifljpectinrvvyi. anmlttee?" asks Mrs. Laura Robertson, chairman, chair-man, as she receives questionaires returned by . school children following follow-ing a prolonged period of clean-up. Twice the time was extended because be-cause of stormy weather. Mrs. Robertson suggests that every resident see his home and yards as others see them. Are the barnyards barn-yards cleaned, wood piled neatly, are the fences straightened and mended, the salvage material collected col-lected and piled, the lawns and flower gardens in good condition? That the city has had its face washed wash-ed is evident, but have the homes been "scrubbed behind the ears?" If homeowners wish to receive a gardening plaque in recognition of having planted waste space to a vegetable garden, they should report re-port to Melbourne Wallace, gardening garden-ing or send a note with their children chil-dren to school teachers who are assisting in gardening supervision. Students of the schools are also eligible for such an award if they have planted a flower cr vegetable garden. This achievement should ue reported to the gardening committee through the schools. Later in the summer, a check-up of the care given these gardens will be made. Gold stars will be added to the plaque to denote consistent weeding, irrigation and cultivation. |
