Show Vera Devereax, Visits Relatives In Pleasant Grove; On A Furlough A. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Devereaux received two happy surprises last week, with the arrival of two of their sons. with the U. S. Navy in the Pac-Yern Pac-Yern who has spent three years ific Ocean, Is a visitor in our midst. He was at Manila Bay when the U. S. entered the war, and since that time he has seen much action between there and Australia. He is her,, on a 20 day leave' after which he will return to his place of duty. WARNICK-WADLEY MARRIAGE TAKES PLACE IN TEMPLE Of interest to their many local friends is the marriage of Miss Angeline Warnick and Mr. Bryce N. Wadlcy, which was performed on Friday, August 28, by Presi- dent S. L. Chipman in Salt Lake j Temple, and was witnessed by the bride grooms mother Mrs. Jessie R. Wadley, the bride's aunt Mrs. Frank Salzner, Mr, and Mrs. Ralph Warnick of Wendover, Mrs. Helen Smith Pierce of Brigham City and the groom's brother, Alex Wadley. After the marriage open house was held at the home of Mrs. Jennie Jen-nie Campbell in Salt Lake City. Local people attending were relatives re-latives and close friends 6f the young -people and included: Mrs. Jessie Wadley, Alex Wadley, President Presi-dent and Mrs. W. W. Warnick, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Warnick, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick, Mrs. H. V. Swensen and Miss Leah Jean Swenson of Pleasant Grove, Miss Effie Warnick of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Warnick of Wendover, and Mr. and Mrs. Malin Smith of McGill, Nevada. There were also present members of the General Board of the M. I. A., and members of the State Board of Education. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Warnick, formerly for-merly of Pleasant Grove, and now of Simms, Montana. She is a graduate of the Brigham Young University where she majored in home economics and nutrition. She was also a student of the U. S. A. C, has taught school at Spring-ville Spring-ville and was a member of the faculty of the B. Y. U. She is at the present time engaged as nutrition nutrit-ion director of the State Board of Education. She is also a member of the general board of the Mutual Improvement association. Mr. Wadley is the son of the late Nephi Wadley and Mrs. Jessie Jes-sie Wadley of Pleasant Grove. He also is a graduate of the B. Y. U. and has studied at the U. S .A. C. and worked for sometime -with the State Inspector of Fruits and Vegetables, Veg-etables, and with the State Board of Agriculture. Two years ago he entered the Iowa State College at Arties, from which he received his Masters Degree De-gree last June and is now working with the extension division of that school. Taking with them the good wishes wish-es of their host of friends, the popular young couple left Saturdav morning on o honeymoon tour to Simms. Montana, wheer they will visit Mrs. Wadlevs parents, Mr. and ATrs. C. L. Warnick and other relatives enroute. |
