Show I April Conference Dates Announced Plans for the 110th annual general gen-eral conference of the L. D. S. church, which will draw more than 10,000 persons to Salt Lake City next month, have been drawn by church officials. Functioning of the church Welfare Wel-fare program, now four years old; affairs of church members as they are affected by the new European war, and related spiritual problems prob-lems will be discussed at the sessions to be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 5, 6 and 7. General sessions will be conducted con-ducted by the church first presidency, presi-dency, with general authorities of the church to serve as principal speakers. A feature of the conference will be reports by mission presidents from this continent of increased missionary work here following withdrawal of mission forces from Europe. A number of auxiliary conference confer-ence meetings and other special sessions ses-sions are being planned in connection connec-tion -with the general conference, particularly the annual conference of the L. D. S. Relief society, to be held April 3 and 4. For the first time, Mrs. Amy Brrwn Lyman will preside over the Re.'ief society as president. Mrs. Ma:cia K. Howells, her first counselor, coun-selor, is in charge of the conference confer-ence arrangements and a recently ar pointed general board will assist in directing the two-day meetings. |
