Show S. 0. Bennion Gives Seminary Address Admonition to continue along the line of study taken up in their work at the American Fork L. D. S. Seminary Semi-nary and to put their knowledge into in-to service in whatever organization of the church they are called to work in was given the graduating class of the seminary at the commencement com-mencement exercises held in the tabernacle Monday night, by S. O. Bennion, of the Seven Presidents of Seventies. President Bennion pointed point-ed out to the graduates the opportunities oppor-tunities not only offerred by the church of which they are members, for service, but in various other fields as well. Certificates of graduation were awarded forty students which have successfully completed the required three years work under the direction of the seminary superintendent, E. Ray Gardner. President Clifford E. Young presented the certificates. Special honor was bestowed upon ten of the seminary graduates for their scholarship records. The six young women and the four young men having the best records were: Merma Grant, Gwendolyn Richans, Edith Clarke, Helen Ellison, Hazel Johnson and Edith Walker; Wsndell Kirkpatrick, Fred Bowen, Paul Wiser Wis-er and Rulon Draper. The program as announced was given. Miss Helen Devey, class organist, was accompanist for the musical numbers. There was a splendid attendance at the exercises reflecting the interest in-terest taken by the parents and friends of these students in their seminary work. Superintendent E. Ray Gardner was in charge of the 1 program. |
