Show J. L. Finnage To Make : Annual Contribution To High School According to announcements made late this week by Principal J. M. Walker of Ithe local high school, a contribution of $200.00 is to be made the school annually by J. L. Flrmage, active member of the Lions Club and a wealthy and prominent business man of this community. Mr. Flrmage Flrm-age announced his intentions of making mak-ing this contribution at a recent luncheon staged at the high school, but was undecided as to what purpose pur-pose the money should be used for. He asked the school officials to take j i the matter under consideration, decide de-cide upon the project best suited for the school and submit the plans to him for definite decision. The final action on the contribu-, tion sum resulted as follows: $100.00 ! for suitable hooks and research mat-, ter for the high school library nnd the other S100.no for the public speak-I ing department to be divided into suitable prizes tto encourage tbe j stud'-nts to a more efficient and, superior standard of work. ! The high school, its students and j especially the patrons arc most grateful grate-ful for the worthy contribution made j by Mr. Firmago. As a medium for the whole community, a volume of; thanks goes out to Mr. Firmage through these columns. He should bo highly commended for his earnest foresightedness in civic affairs, and his aggressive attitude in educational fields. |
