Show o TWO HUNDRED WITNESS FIRST AID DEMONSTRATION A very efficient demonstration in ! First Aid was given here by the Bingham Fire department last Saturday night under the direction of Chief John Creedon, W. W. Kiss-ler Kiss-ler of the U. S. Bureau of Mines instructed the team in their first aid work and trained them using members of the department as subjects. sub-jects. The demonstration was sponsored spon-sored by Fire Chief Irving L. Pratt and the members of the local fire department. There was an attendance attend-ance of two hundred and all enjoyed the program greatly. The teams were given a closed envelope en-velope and at the signal opened it and learned the nature of the "accident" "ac-cident" the person had suffered. They immediately applied the first aid treatment demonstrating what to do for broken limbs, burns, bleeding, bleed-ing, shock and even a broken back. Every treatment used was of the nature that any person could apply and relieve much suffering while waiting for a doctor to arrive. Among the out-of-town guests present were Leo Knudson, safety engineer for the Utah Copper company; com-pany; Harry McEwan, safety engineer engi-neer for the Utah Power & Light company and Commissioner Sum- : mers all of Bingham; Battalion Chief J. K. Piercy of the Salt Lake department depart-ment and several of his men and their partners, and Chief Powers and several men of Lehi. Mayor William Storrs and City Councilman Bert Christensen were also in attendance. |
