Show Second Ward j Hold Banquet The Second ward held a very successful suc-cessful banquet Wednesday evening. About 350 plates were sold, the entire en-tire Timpanogos stake giving their support to this feature. People from near by .towns who had at one time been members of the ward came back to celebrate this supreme effort of the Second ward to raise means to complete their new chapel to have it ready for dedication on April 14. A lively program in the Amusement Amuse-ment hall was enjoyed while the second group of people filled the banquet hall tables. Entertainers from the B. Y. U. -and local talent added in features during the danc- ing. The meal was prepared by the Relief Society cooks with President Jennie T. Smith at the head. All of the cooks were arrayed in white dresses and looked like real chefs. The M. I. A. girls did the serving and with the experience acquired with the many banquets put over during the building campaign were able to make perfect waiters. Clifton R. Clark worked with the cooks, his genial disposition made him their wonderful "handy man" one of the essentials of so large an affair. The M. I. A. took charge of the program, one could not tell who was actually in charge as all officers assisted in announcing the numbers. The outstanding "funnies" of the evening was the doubtful compliments compli-ments paid to the bishopric and other oth-er executive officers in a duet by Ford M. Poulson and Elroy West. The building was packed to capacity ca-pacity and a very enjoyable time was had. o |
