Show Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt were Salt Lake City visitors Tuesday, Mr. Pratt being one of the speakers at the funeral services of Mrs. Dolly Mills. Mrs. Mills was a member of the auxiliary of the State Firemen's Association. Mrs. Dave Warnick was hostess to the members of the Young Bridge club at her home Friday afternoon of last week. Miss Irene Johnston and Mrs. Kenneth Bobison were the special guests. The high score prize was won by Mrs. Marl Steele and the low score award by Mrs. Culver Anderson. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. HELP NEEDED An appeal has been sent out by the Pleasant Grove and Orem canning can-ning plants for additional help to operate both of these factories. Both men a.nd women can be used, it is ' reported and any persons in the ; north end of the county should get in touch with the plants if they desire de-sire work. Transportation is furnished and other details of the jobs available j can be had by visiting or telephon- I ing the plants. j MARRIAGE ANNOUNCED i The marriage of Morgan Boley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Boley of this city, and Miss Thelma West ; of Pleasant Grove, was announced today by the parents of the bride, , Mr. and Mrs. D. Hansen returned home Tuesday night from Provo after af-ter visiting for the past week with her aunt, Mrs. Fay L. Smith. Raymond Larsen left Thursday of last week for Kansas City, Mo., after visiting with his aunt, Mrs. John Parker, with whom he made his home until about a year ago when he went east to attend school. Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Lott of Crockett, Calif., are visiting at the home of Mrs. Lett's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Wagstaff. Mrs. Lott was formerly Miss Margaret Wagstaff. Morgan is a graduate of the American Pork high school and has attended the University of Utah, the Brigham Young University and the University of Denver, where he studied Business Administration. He has filled a mission to the British Isles and been active in the various organizations in the First ward. Miss West was a graduate of the Pleasant Grove high school where she took a prominent part in school activities. She Iras worked in the church organization in her home ward in Pleasant Grove. Both of the young people have a host of friends who wish them success suc-cess in their married life. r , Miss Vivian Makin left Tuesday of last week for Beverly Hills, California, Cal-ifornia, where she has obtained work. Mrs. Mary Duncan and her daughter, Mrs. Ina Rock, will leave Saturday evening for Seattle, Washington, Wash-ington, for a visit with her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. W. S. Willis. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Sykes and family fam-ily attended the funeral services in Salt Lake Wednesday of Miss Bonnie Bon-nie Elaine Burton, 8, who died early Saturday morning of a heart ailment. ail-ment. Miss Burton is a niece, of Mrs. Sykes. Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Bush and children of Eureka spent Sunday at the home of Mr. Bush's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bush. Little Miss Connie Bush remained for a few days visit at the home of her grandparents. grand-parents. . Mrs. Ray D. Nicholes left last week for Logan where she commenced com-menced her work as a teacher in the Utah State Agricultural College Training School. Mrs. Nicholes is Well known in American Fork and vicinity and has a host of friends wishing her success in her new position. |
