Show Ten Years Ago Now (Taken from files of May 14, 1927) On May 19th the commencement exercises for the graduating class of the American Fork High School will be held in the auditorium of the Alpine stake tabernacle. Forty-one seniors will be awarded diplomas of graduation in recognition of having successfully met the requirements of the school and completed a course of four years of high school work. Miss Eleanor Kelly, having attained the highest scholastic standing for the four years, will represent the class as valedictorian. Judge George Baliff of. Provo will address the graduates. Ten Years Ago Now The new American Fork baseball club snatched the opening game away from the Eureka team here Wednesday. The visitors had the edge over the locals and it looked bad for "Hap's" crew for several innings and even in the ninth the locals were in danger. The score finally ended 10 to 9. Ten Years Ago Now A party of local men including President James H. Clarke, Fletcher Crompton, Filcher Beck and William Barratt, who made a trip to the Pacific mine Tuesday, returned with a warning that high water can be expected as soon as warm weather sets in. President Clarke reports that there, was fully three feet of solid snow on the Pacific flat and two feet on the Dutchman flat. About all the water coming down now is from the springs and no snow was melting at that time. Ten Years Ago Now American Fork had over a thousand thous-and high school students here Friday, Fri-day, May 6th as guests, and the annual Utah County high school day was proclaimed a splendid success. The streets were decorated with large American flags and practically all of the business houses extended greetings with appropriate window decorations and cards. The fifth annual commencement exercises of the American Fork Seminary will be held in the Alpine stake tabernacle Sunday, May 15th, at 7:30 p. m. Dr. Joseph F. Merrill of the University of Utah will address ad-dress the graduates. |
