Show Pleasant Grove Locals I Mrs. Lucius Laudie of Salt Lake, spent part of the last week with her sister, Mrs. H. W. Jp.cobs. I Mrs. Virgil Coombs of Salt Lake City, is visiting this week with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Merle Coombs. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker were ; business visitors at Salt Lake City j Tuesday. It is rumored that Mr. j Walker is contemplating the purchase pur-chase of a new car. Mrs. Nellie Walters Meiling of Bedford, Oregon, has been visiting the past week with Utah relatives. In Pleasant Grove she has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Nels Swenson Swen-son and brother-in-law, Swen J. Nelson. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Baldwin of Salt Lake City were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Kindred. Mr. Baldwin and Mr. Kindred are both employes of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Miss Elaine Richards, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morel Richards of Salt Lake City, has been the guest of Miss Maxine Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker, during the past week. Samuel Bums recently received .word of the death of his brother, John I. Bums, at Los Angeles, formerly form-erly of American Fork, but for the ; last fifteen years a resident of California. Cali-fornia. I Dr. J. H. Ellsworth of Payson call- ed at the J. D. Thorne home Sunday Sun-day while enroute to Bountiful to attend the graveside services for 'Mrs. German EKsworth, whose body was brought from Washington, D. C, for interment. The body has lain in a vault there for several months. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ludlow and family of Benjamin, Mr. and Mrs. James Nelson and family of Leamington, Leam-ington, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Ocker-man Ocker-man of Benjamin, and Mrs. Nielson jand daughters of Sandy, were among !the out-of-town guests who attend-'ed attend-'ed the funeral of Charles J. Mrs. Myron West of Brigham City returned to her home Tuesday after several days visit with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Eleanor West, and other oth-er Pleasant Grove relatives. Mr. and Mrs. John Oscarson and baby left Uvursday for Marysvale, Utah, after spending the summer with Mr.. Oscarson 's parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Oscarson. John is sup- erintendent of the Piute County ; schools. . j I Mr. and Mrs. Karl Banks had as 'dinner guests Sunday, Mrs. Banks' j sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Miss Beth Swenson, who has beer laboring as a missionary in the Eastern East-ern States, arrived home last Saturday. Satur-day. She motored across the continent con-tinent with Mr. and Mrs. H. R Driggs of New York. Margaret Whittingham, Eva Yancey and Mr. and Mrs. Odis Yancey Yan-cey were guests Sunday of Mr. anc Mrs. Eugene Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Martin Kimber of Provo. Mr. and Mrs. S. Green, Mr. and Mrs. D. Miley Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Isaac E. Carlson and Mr. and Mrs, J. Kemp attended the reunion of early Mercur settlers at Libertj Park Sunday. Mrs. W. J. Cordner, and daughter, Reva, of Orem, and his' mother, Mrs. Eliza Banks of this city. The First ward Relief Society entertained en-tertained last Friday at a social in honor of Mrs. J. H. Spencer who is leaving in the near future to make their home at Overton, Nevada, for jthe coming winter. The afternoon was spent in a program and social 'chat. Delicious refreshments were served. Thorne and son, Cyril, Mrs. Amy Thorne and Miss Amy Giles of Lr)s Angeles, motored to Heber last Thursday and witnessed the ball game between the locals and the Heber team after which they visited with relatives there. Members of the Mothers Club were 'guests last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. C. O. Jensen.
