Show Funeral Services Held For Emma Beers Funeral services were held Sunday Sun-day at 12:30 p. m. in the Second ward chapel over the remains of Emma Freestone Beers, who died at the Provo hospital Thursday. Counselor Coun-selor Clifton R- Clark conducted the services- "Abide With Me.-" was sung by a trio, Bertha Gray, Fern Hicks and Leah Larson, accompanied by Vida Conway. The invocation wi'-s offered by C- O. Jensen, followed by a solo, "Face to Face," by Stella Hardman, accompanied by Lavona Jensen. The first speaker was John C. Coulam, a neighbor of the Beers family. He spoke of the neighbor-liness neighbor-liness of Sister Beers- We must not mourn to excess. We must do our part so that we will be ready to meet her. That will add to her pleasure when we meet again, he said. Brother Coulam closed his remarks by reading the poem, "If I Should Die To-night-" S. L- Swenson, a life-long friend of the Beers family, said in part, "We have met here to-day to mourn with Brother Beers. Sister Beers has been patient and long suffering- She liked to live- God bless Warren and his children, that they may have love and appreciation in their home. What we may say will not change Sister Beers' life, but what we do will help our life." A solo, "The Old Refrain" was rendered by Mrs- C. O. Jensen. Bishop F- D- Atwood of the Third ward spoke of the cheerful disposition disposi-tion of the deceased, the good home maker and wonderful mother she was. "Abide With Me" was sung by the Relief Society members. Mr. A. B. Anderson of Lehi, who lived with the Freestone family in Vernal forty years ago, talked of Mrs- Beers' childhood, home and the love in the family-Closing family-Closing remarks were made by Bishop B- H. Adams, followed with a solo, "Lay My Head Beneath A Rose" by Roy Fage, with Mrs. Jensen Jen-sen as accompanist. The benediction benedic-tion was by Bishop B. H. Adams-Interment Adams-Interment was in the Pleasant Grove cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Charles Buhler- r. i O r |
