Show Am. Fork Locals Several moves were made in American Fork last week-end. Walter Wal-ter Sterfuis moved his family to the Gilbert Baxter home, where Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Clyde have been living. Clydes have moved into the Elmer Chipman home where Mr. and Mrs. Spence Taylor lived and the Taylors moved Into the home vacated by Mr. Steffins. By Monday morning all were nicely settled and happy in their new surroundings. Mr. and Mrs. G- N. Bunker and. two sons, Smoot and Grant, of Val Verda, visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Grant- The Junior Literary club met at the home of Mrs. Grant Ingersoll last Monday night and heard Miss Beth Paxman of Provo, read a three-act play. A vocal solo was rendered by Mrs- Margaret Bromley. Brom-ley. Each member wa-s accompanied accompan-ied by a guest and all enjoyed the program which was under the direction di-rection of Mrs- Philip Green- Mrs. Clyde Ault entertained the , little friends of her daughter, Doris Dean, last Friday, the occasion being be-ing Doris' seventh birthday, Let us figure with you on beautifying1 beauti-fying1 your home grounds. Flans and suggestions free. Humphries. Adv. Mr. and Mrs. DuBois Rhine and child of Bellingham, Washington, visited Friday and Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Kay Morton. Mrs. Rhine and Mrs. Morton were missionary mis-sionary companions. Christine Ramsay, Berniece Wilde, Howard Paxman and his sister, Ruth Paxman, left Sunday in Howard's car for a trip to Los Angeles and vicinity and plan to stop at Boulder City on their, return trip home. They expect to be gone about a week. Mrs. E. J. Iverson and daughter, lone, stopped here Friday for Mrs. Merlin Holmstead and all motored to Salem and spent the day visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Sabins. Miss Beth Hutchings, Mrs. James Moffett and Mrs. LaVell Singleton were hostesses at a kitchen shower last Friday, in honor of Miss Melissa Greenwood and held at the home of Mrs. B. F. Moffett. Monte Carlo Whist was played by the thirty guests, prizes being won by Mrs. Kenneth Singleton and Mrs. Stanford Stan-ford Wilde. The bride received many useful things for her kitchen. Miss Merriam Coates visited two days this week in Salt Lake City at the home of Mrs. Grace Barratt Home demonstrating being the subject now under discussion for the work and business project as carried out by the Relief Society of the Alpine Al-pine Stake, Mrs. Barrows of the extension division of the U. A. C. gave a two session course at Provo Monday. Those from the American Fork wards in attendance were Mrs. Burn Harrington, Mrs. Dill Jones, Mrs. Rhoda Parker, Mrs. Kate Mc-Tague, Mc-Tague, Mrs. Laura Timpson and Mrs. Orin Ashton. The ladies report having hav-ing received valuable help for their work. Mrs. Dena Grant niid Miss LUlie Shafter were business visitors in Salt Lake Wednesday. The Style Shop was open for business under the direction di-rection of Mrs. Berniece Adams. Mrs. Bernard Storrs was hostess to the club members and some special guests of the Deltha Dames club Wednesday afternoon. After a verv interesting afternoon of Bridge was enjoyed, prizes were awarded to Mrs Clyde Birk, a guest, naid the club pnze to Mrs. Helen Bate. The invited in-vited guests were Mrs. Neldon Birk, Mrs. Stanford Wilde, Mrs. Clvdc Birk and Mre. Leo Nclsan. D.Untv refreshments were served. Mrs- George Stokes entertained the members of the G. A. club at her home Wednesday night- Mrs. Duckworth gave an instructive talk on the canning and care of meat. Mrs- Bert Christensen entertain-' ed some ladies of her neighborhood at an afternoon of "Bunco" at her home yesterday. At the close of the social a hot supper was served. The Builders swarm of the First ward Bee-hive surprised then-teachers Tuesday night with a very interesting in-teresting evening of games, after which light refreshments were served- The teachers are Mrs. Evelyn Holmstead and Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Mercer. The Feality ladles met last Friday Fri-day at the home of Mrs Zelda Shumway. Bridge was played and the prizes awarded to Mrs. Donna Tregaskis a guest and the club prize to Mrs. Doris Robinson. The invited guests were, Mesdamcs Lucy Robinson, Robin-son, Alta Chipman, Wanita Storrs Lonia Birk, Alta Varney, E.stella Taylor, Mae Bennett, Helen Bate and Donna Tregaskis of this city Mrs. John Wing of Provo, and Mrs Boyer Anderson of Lehi. While playing at Primary last week Max, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Grant, fell hurting his left elbow. Although not broken it was necessary for the arm to be carried in a sling. ' Mrs. Samuel Grant was the hostess hos-tess Friday to the officers and teachers of the First ward Primary honoring Mrs. Myrl McGrew, who ' recently moved to Salt Lake City. Other special guests were Miss Ruth Johnson and Mrs. Thelma Boley Jones of Salt Lake, and Mrs. Lucy Bush a member of the stake board. The afternoon was spent playing Stung, the prize being won by Ruth Johnson. A delicious lunch was served to twenty-four. |
