Show With Our Missionaries 1548 U. Street, Lincoln, Neb. March 6, 1934. Pleasant Grove Review, Pleasant Grove, Utah, Dear Editor: I have received regularly the past' twenty-three months the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove Review for which I am very grateful. It has been a pleasure pleas-ure to read and re-read the interesting inter-esting items that appear in each weekly edition. I look forward to the time when "My home town paper" will come with just as much joy and enthusiasm as I do for a letter from my friends and relatives. I have thoroughly enjoyed the time that I have spent as a missionary, mission-ary, teaching in my weak way the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. My testimony has been greatly strengthened. strength-ened. Nothing can give a missionary mission-ary or a member of the church more pleasure, I am sure, than to see some humble soul believe our testimonies and accept and embrace our wonderful teachings. And happy hap-py is the person that accepts and lives, to the best of their ability, the Gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Lat-ter Day Saints. It has been my pleasure since coming into the mission field to labor in four different states, namely; name-ly; Colorado, New Mexico, Nebraska Nebras-ka and Council Bluffs, Iowa. In each of these districts the work has been different, yet very interesting. In each district we have well organized organ-ized branches of the church, which carry on all or nearly all the organ- izations of the church. I labored a year in. the New Mexico district, principally in Albuquerque. While there I had the privilege of traveling travel-ing over quite a portion of the state. We visited the Carlsbad Caverns, Cav-erns, situated in the southern part of the state. - Tne wonders of this National Park cannot be described. Tne trip into the cave and back out is about seven and one-half miles. Each step one can see some new rock formation which resembles great white castles. It is thought that these beautiful pictures have been forming for thousands of years. We also had the opportunity of going to the odd city of Quarez, Old Mexico. In Nebraska there are several interesting places which our forefathers, the pioneers, first established. estab-lished. Just out of Omaha is a little city called Florence. Many yeans ago this was the city established estab-lished by the Mormons and known as Winter Quarters. A tree, said to have bon planted by President Brirham Young, still stands. Council Coun-cil Bluffs. Iowa, is aho a land mark for our pioneers. I am grateful for this opportun-itv opportun-itv thet I have of being a missionary mission-ary and wish that more of our youner people could enjoy the same privilege. Afrain I wish to thank you for sending me the Review and may God Bless you. I am sincerely, i LaVern Cobbley. |
