Cragun, Mrs. Kate Jacobs and Mrs. Cora Atwood, presidency presi-dency of the Alpine Stake Relief Society, attended the Relief Society conference at Salt Lake City Tuesday. Tues-day. Relatives and life long friends of Mrs. Maggie Johnson gathered at her home last Saturday afternoon in honor of her 82nd birthday. The Sunshine Committee of the Second ward Relief Society took charge of the program and refreshments. The program consisted of old time songs by Mrs. Margaret Mathews, Mrs. Mary Olson, Maggje- Christensen and reminiscences by Mrs. Louisa Ellis, Mrs. Kitchen, Mary Olson, Mrs. Annie Johnson, Mrs. Annie Holman and others. A poem by the ' Sunshine Committee, an original orig-inal poem by Mrs. Luella Thorne. There were songs by Mrs. Peay and by Mrs. Fern Hicks and Mary Lee, a reading by Bertha Gray and other entertaining features. Many people called during the day just to let "aunt Maggie" know that they remembered her birthday. . I J Mrs. Ida M. Smith who has spent i the pastionth in California is home again. Mrs. Fenton and I the baby are at the home of grand- j ma Chastina Walker, who is taking tak-ing care of the mother and baby. Mr. and Mrs. Erving Johnson and Mrs. Sytha Johnson attended M. I. A. at Alpine Tuesday evening. Mr. Johnson gave the book review, "The White Bird Flying" as a part of the program. The Sunshine Committee of the Second ward Relief Society will entertain today, (Friday) in honor of Mrs. Mary Jeppson at her home. Neighbors and relatives will be among the guests. Miss Hah Thorne and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sjoberg of Salt Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Leo R. Walker of Garland, were week-end visitors at the home of their mother, Mrs. Regina Thome. The Stake Board of the Timpano-gos Timpano-gos Stake Relief Society held an officers meeting at the home of Mrs. Mary J. Cooper last Friday afternoon. after-noon. After the business had been taken care of, a social hour and refreshments were enjoyed. Dr. and Mrs. C. O. . Jensen and family returned Monday evening frorna four days' trip to Las Vegas, Nevada. They were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Morgan of that city at a birthday dinner in honor of Mrs. Morgan. They visited the Boulder Dam and other places of interest and report an excellent trip. Mrs. Rachel Clark, president of stake and Mrs. Charles S. Clark and son, of Oakley, Idaho, were guests of their son and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Clark and family Wednesday. They will attend at-tend conference at Salt Lake City Sunday before returning home. Lovell, son of Jen- j nie Swenson Lovell, who was killed in an automobile accident in Salt Lake Sunday. This young man was his mother's only support. Mrs. Bessie Wright recently received re-ceived word from her son, Clifford ' B. Wright, who resides at Hunting-: ton Park, California, that the build-; ing where his drug store was housed was completely destroyed. 1 The photo accompanying the letter ; showed where the front of the build-' ing was smashed, corners off and . windows broken. Mr. Wright explained ex-plained that bottles of medicine were thrown 25 feet and smashed, ' much damage was done to the ! stock. Mr. Wright is moving to a j new location.
