Show Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smith visited with Dr. and Mrs. V. P. Houston here Tuesday. Mrs. Smith is a sister of Dr. Houston. Mrs. David Dowd of Idaho Falls and Mrs. Owen Halverson of Long Beach are visiting with their sister, Mrs B N. Christensen here. Miss Isabel Bethiam of Idaho Falls also is visiting at the Christensen home. Mr. and Mrs. Barratt Chadwick of ' Ogden visited with Mr. Chadwick's I parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Chad-I Chad-I wick and family here Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, Mr. and Mrs. Chadwick and Keith returned with them to Ogden for a visit there. Mrs. R. L. Ashby has been invited in-vited to be a guest of honor at ttie Brigham Young university annual Girls' day today, and Mr. and Mrs. Ashby will be patrons of the dance in the evening. Miss Bonna Ashby is president of the Associated women wo-men Students organization sponsoring sponsor-ing the day. Mrs. Ashby attended a dance revue re-vue and fashion show at Jordan high school last Friday. Her daughter, daugh-ter, Eda, who is girls' physical education edu-cation instructor at the school, was in charge of the dancing. Local Items B. B. ladies met at the home of Mrs. William Elsmore Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Greenwood spent Sunday in Brigham City, visiting visit-ing with Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gur-ney. Gur-ney. Mrs. Luther Giddings entertained the Bee Orchis club at her home on Friday of last week. Mrs. June Wright entertained the School Chums on Thursday of last week. After a delightful sewing bee, a supper was served. Mrs. R. R. Steele celebrated her seventy-eighth birthday here Wednesday. Wed-nesday. During the day, members of the family called at the home to extend birthday greetings. Mrs. W. T. Loveridge of Burley, Idaho, is visiting with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Loveridge here. She arrived here last Sunday, and expects to return re-turn to Idaho on Mother's day. Mrs. E. H. Devey entertained .members of the Chi Gamma Dell club Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Owen Humphries entertained the H. B. club Saturday. Mrs. June Peterson of Lehi won the prize, and Mrs. Ida Cahn was the special guest. ' , "A large group of American Fork music lovers motored to Provo Monday Mon-day night to hear Helen Jeppson, Metropolitan opera star, in a recital. Among those from here attending were the Misses Margaret Dunkley, Sarah Shelley and Affra McNeill, and Ray Nielsen. A birthday party honoring Mrs. J. F. Noyes was given Friday afternoon of last week at the Noyes home. The afternoon was spent in playing contract con-tract bridge and a "pot luck" luncheon lunch-eon was served. Attending were Mrs. William Chipman, Mrs. Byron Crookston, Mrs. Lee Halstrom, Mrs. Nan Chipman, Mrs. William Householder, House-holder, Mrs. Haydee Thornton, Mrs. May Halliday, Mrs. Leonard Pett, Mrs. David Taylor, Mrs. Kenneth Noyes, and Mrs. James Chadwick. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Sweeten arrived ar-rived here Sunday from Windsor, California, for an indefinite stay. Mrs. Sweeten is the former Emily Foster. Mrs. S. T. Shelley and Miss Virginia Vir-ginia Shelley were Salt Lake City visitors on Thursday. Mrs. Elizabeth Coddington entertained enter-tained the Woolgrowers' auxiliary at the closing social of the season, Wednesday afternoon. The afternoon after-noon was delightfully spent in playing play-ing Monte Carlo whist, and a "pot luck" lunch was enjoyed. Fifteen ladies attended. . Mrs. Berniece Adams was' the winner of an I. E. S. electric floor lamp, in the Utah Power & Light company electric range contest last week. Mrs.. Adams wrote a statement on why she would like an electric range, winning the prize She is the only winner in the district dis-trict between Sandy and Provo. Mrs. Emma Anderson, formerly of American Fork, entertained at a breakfast at her home in Salt Lake City Sunday for Mrs. Roy Steele Mrs. Grace Jensen and Mrs. Warren Boley of American x"ork, Mrs. Alice D.
