Show Softball Games To Start Monday; Program Outlined Competition in the six-team soft-ball soft-ball league, under the city recreation recrea-tion program, will get under way Monday night, when the first game will be played, Supervisor Ray 1 S. Merrill announced Thursday. Sponsors of the teams are C. R. Clark, Smith Drug, Dixon-Taylor-Russell, Wasatch Inn, and Boren Market. A team from Mercur also will be in the league. Miss Laura Banner, in charge of the children's and girls' activities, has announced that a full program has been outlined, beginning with a free play period at 1 p. m. The schedule calls for: 1:30 p. m., sand modeling, supervised super-vised by Dorothy Rushton, Dorothy and May Newman; 2:30, art, taught by Helen Nelson; story hour with Margarett Burns in charge; 3:30, handicraft, taught by Vera Bastian, Rose Herbertson, Velda Nelson, and Dorothy Rushton; 4:30, rhythm work, taught by Laverl Neves; 5:00, tennis- and softball, supervised by Rhea Hooley and Roena Chapman; hiking and special events, Ellen Beveridge. Miss Banner will teach the dancing danc-ing on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. |
