Show "Register Your Baby" Campaign to be Conducted Beginning next week the U. S. Bureau of the Census and the Utah State Board of Health will coorxrr-ate, coorxrr-ate, under the direction of Dr. J. L. Jones, state health commissioner, in conducting a "Register Your Baby" campaign in Utah county. It is believed be-lieved from recent reports, that the percentage of birth registration in that district is falling below the standard of 90 per cent, as set up I by the Federal government. It is j recommended, therefore, that a com- ! plete check-up be made covering all I births occurring during the last 12 months. I The Census Bureau will send to every iamuy in Utah county a campaign cam-paign card with the request that it be filled In and mailed, postage free, so that it may be checked against the original birth certificates on file in the State Division of Vital Sta- tLstics. Through this means, many births which the attending physicians physi-cians may have failed to register, as required by law, will be brought to light. The local Parent-Teachers association asso-ciation are cooijerating in the campaign cam-paign and urge all parents to fill in the cards and return them promptly if a birth has occurred in the home during the past year and also remind their neighbors to do the same. The card has a space for the name of the child, date of birth, place of birth, name of parents and present mailing address. The following is written on the card: "To Parents: The U. S. Bureau of Census wishes to make certain that all births which occur in your state are recorded. Unless the birth is properly registered regis-tered the baby may lose rights dependent de-pendent upon proof of age, of par entage and citizenship. We need your help. If the baby was born in your family during the last 12 months, please fill out and maU this card. Upon its receipt search will be made in the State records for the baby's birth certificate. certifi-cate. If this is not found, you will be notified so that the birth may be recorded. If there is no baby in your home, but you know of one in th; neighborhood, neigh-borhood, please give this card to the parents. A prompt reply is important. im-portant. No postage is necessary.
