Show Second Ward Opens New i Oliapel Amusement Hall The whole town joined with the Second Warders in celebrating the opening of their new- remodled chapel chap-el and additional amusement hall, which held sway for three days, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, February Feb-ruary 2, 3 and i. The celebration was an exceptional success, and far surpassed the anticipations of the ward bishopric and the acting committees. com-mittees. At all meetings, approximately approxi-mately 400 people of the 7S0 totaled ward population were in attendance, and in addition, many from out of town and the other wards w'ere present. pres-ent. The building was a joy to behold, and the interior furnishings and decorations proved to be most elaborate elab-orate as well as practical. It w-ould be safe in saying that no chapel and a,musement hall in the state could be far superior in beauty and modern conveniences than the Second ward's structure. The Sunday meetings were conducted con-ducted as scheduled. President Heb-er Heb-er J. Grant was present at the M. I. A. conjoint meeting that evening and extended his congratulations to the people of the ward. Over 350 townspeople were served chicken dinners on Monday and Tuesday Tues-day during the noon hour. The diners din-ers were seated at long tables in the basement of the amusement hall section, sec-tion, and all were loud in their praises of the culinary achievements of the Second Ward Relief Society, who prepared and served the peal. The bazar, likewise, was a success, both financially as well as socially. All articles were sold, and in addition, addi-tion, the booths, where candy, pop corn, and hot dogs were sold, all re- j ceived their share of the celebraters J patronage. The house was packed both even-i ings,, on Monday for the presentation of the play "Seven Chances", and on! Tuesday, for the dancing party. All the activities went over as outlined, and were thoroughly enjoyed enjoy-ed by the large crowds who participated partici-pated in them. Too much cannot be said about the beautiful building, both of the ex- terior and interior, but we find if hard to find words to describe the many details which go to create the artistic effects produced. The building is carpeted throughout through-out including the halls, stairways and classrooms. The lighting fixtures fix-tures and draperies are most elegant, and conform closely to .the central decorative theme produced all through the building. Of special beauty' is the reception lobby and the amuse- j ment hall. Cloak and hat rooms Join the lobby, and it will be observed that throughout the entire building, ' nothing has been left undone to sup-j ply the most modern conveniences . and comforts in an artistic way. The Bishopric of the Second ward wish to take this opportunity of thanking ail for their cooperation during the celebration, especially the officers of the auxiliary organizations and committees who worked so dili- j gently in making the opening such j an enjoyable affair. I They extend their thanks to all who attended the various functions sponsored, both wjird members and j visitors, and invite them to attend: future activities and meetings in the chapel and amusement hall, and to always feel welcome to enjoy the comforts and modernism of the new, building.
