Show Gold and Green Ball Outstanding Outstand-ing Event Tile outstanding social event of the past week was the annual M. I. A. Gold and Green Ball held Thursday Thurs-day night in the Apollo Hall. The ball was given by the stake and ward workers and was largely attended. at-tended. The decorations, which will remain re-main in the hall, are unusually attractive. at-tractive. Myriads of visteria blossoms blos-soms against a background of two shades of blue gave the colonial setting. Hie queens and then- escorts by wards were : First ward Mabel Hug-gard Hug-gard and Elliott Lee; Second ward Christine Ramsay and Eldred Nicholes; Third ward Grace Parker Park-er and Eli K. Clayson; Fourth ward Lois Parduhn and Lenard Kelly. The main feature of the evening was the entrance soon after 10 o'clock of the royal party comprised cf the Gold and Green queens of the four wards and their escorts. Two small pages, Blaine Thornton and Tracy Nicholes in white satin suits and caps and carrying long silver trumpets came first and marched the length of the hall from the south entrance. Following were the queens and their escorts, who took places at the north end, and then came the dancers of the wards who paid due homage. The picture presented by these lovely young women and their partners part-ners was beautiful. The queens were dressed in full conlonial costumes cos-tumes in contrasting pastel colors, with tight basques, billowing panniers pan-niers and hoop skirts. Miss Hug-gard's Hug-gard's was of lavender and pale gold; Miss Ramsay's was pink, Miss Parker's was blue and Miss Par-duhn's, Par-duhn's, green. The picture was completed com-pleted by the costumes of the young men. These consisted of velvet coats to harmonize with the colors of the queen's, and white satin breetches. The accessories were all to match, and altogether the scene was charming. charm-ing. Another event of the evening was the dancing by M. I. A. members of the four wards. The First and Fourth ward dancers participated in the Rye Waltz and the Second and Third ward dancers in the Fox Trot. Gilbert Shumway and Miss Beth Hutchings were in charge of the dances. About forty Junior girls of the wards holding a festooned rope surrounded sur-rounded the area used by the dancers danc-ers and added to the picturesque scene. The patrons and patronesses of the ball were members of the stake presidency, the six bishops of the stake, ward officers, members of the M. I. A. stake presidencies and superintendences sup-erintendences of the Lehi and Tim-panogos Tim-panogos stakes, and members of the general board, and their partners. The hosts and hostesses were the Young Women's superintendency and presidency. Mrs. Jarvis Aydelotte 'and West Hammond, stake activity counselors, were the general chairmen of the affair. The several subcommittees were headed as follows: Queens, Mrs. W. R. Halliday; Decorations, Miss Edith Jacklin and Miss Helen Clarke; Advertising, A. B. Allen; Invitations, In-vitations, Miss Leona Kelly ,and Progams, C. A. Grant. A group of willing workers from the stake board and ward organizations gave splendid splen-did assistance.
