Show Elmo Bush of McGiU, Nevada, spent the week-end at the home of j j his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank j f Bus'.'. i Mr. and Mrs. William Wright returned re-turned to their home in Twin Falls. f Idaho, Wednesday, after having spent the past week in American , Fork at the home of Mr. Wright's pnrents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wright. The American Fork camp cf th3 Daughters of the Utah Pioneers will meeet at the home of Mrs. Hans Christensen on Thursday, Mf.rch 11, at 2 o'clock. The histories of the lives of Betsy Bonny Murdock and Laphonda Green will be given by Fern Green Hunter. Evelyn Pack will furnish some musical numbers. The lesson will be given by Mrs. A. W. Clyde. Election of new officers will be effected. In honor of Miss Clarice Bromley, a recent bride, Mrs. W. H. Callahan, Mrs. Wally Prince and Mrs. Denzil ; Pulley entertained at the Callahan home in Provo Friday night. The bride's trouseau was attractively displayed. Progressive "Love Nest" was played, high score prize being won by Mrs. E. L. Wootton. Lunch was served at the small tables. Those from American Fork who attended at-tended were, Mrs. E. L. Wootton, Mrs. Adair Bromley, Mrs. Sarah Bromley, Mrs. Elma Christopherson and Mrs. Denzil Pulley. Mrs. Mark Coddington entertained entertain-ed at a shower Friday night in honor hon-or of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Dial of Shelley, Shel-ley, Idaho, who were married Wednesday Wed-nesday in the Salt Lake temple. Mrs. Dial, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Binch, is Mrs. Coddington's niece. The evening was spent playing play-ing games. A dainty luncheon was served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs. George Watts and son, Lynn, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Haslam of Salt Lake; Mrs. Thomas Binch of Shelley, Idaho; Ida-ho; Mrs. Ellen Webb of Riverton; Miss Barbara Jones of Lehi; Mrs. E. N. Wagstaff, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hanson, Miss Lela Hanson, Eldon Hanson, Glen Haslam, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Moyle, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hol-man Hol-man of Pleasant Grove, and Miss Helen Haslam. Miss Marjorie Koffard spent the first part of the week in American Fork visiting friends and relatives. Mrs. W. R. Halliday and Miss Nina Halliday went to Salt Lake Saturday Satur-day evening to hear Richard Crooks, who sang at the tabernacle. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Coddington and Mrs. V. F. Houston spent Tuesday Tues-day in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Alton Storrs announce an-nounce the arrival of a baby boy, born Friday, March 26, in the Lehi Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Lee spent Sunday in Salt Lake visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Cheever of Payson, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lily of Spanish Fork, were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Gaisford. Mr. and Mrs. George E. Abel left for Elwood, Utah, the first part of the'week to visit with their children who live there. Mr. and Mrs. Abel expect to be gone about two weeks. Mr. and Mrs. William Chipman returned Monday night from California. Cali-fornia. They have been gone about two weeks. While in California they visited with their daughter, Ora Jean Chipman, at Pasadena. They also spent some time in San Francisco Fran-cisco and Berkeley. Mrs. James Chipman entertained the BJ$. ladies Saturday afternoon at her home. Pour tables of bridge were played, Mrs. William Householder House-holder winning the high score prize. Luncheon was served at the small tables by the hostess. Members of the Ladies Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. West Hammond Thursday afternoon. Mrs. W. R. Haliday was assisting hostess. Mr. Cornwall, father of Mrs. Hammond Ham-mond spoke on "Incidents of the Bible". Musical numbers were furnished fur-nished by Mrs. Clifford E. Young. Officers for the coming year were elected. Mr. and Mrs. William P. Jones of Lehi entertained at a party Saturday Satur-day night at their home. Pour tables of "500" were played and luncheon was served at the small tables. Those from American Fork who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. Victor Gaisford, Mr. and Mrs. George Pierce, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Gaisford and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaisford. Murray Loveless of Provo has taken the place of Thomas Reece in the Dixon-Taylor-Russell store. Mr. and Mrs. Loveless and their baby daughter moved into the Robert Rob-ert Wagstaff home on Saturday. Mrs. M. D. Steele entertained Saturday afternoon in honor of her young son, Don, the occasion being be-ing his ninth birthday. Suitable games were played after which luncheon was served. A pink and white birthday cake topped with nine candles formed the center-' piece for the luncheon table. Those present were: Ted Nielson, Ray Hopkins, Paul Whitley, Paul Steele, Alta Barratt, Lawana Greenwood, Sally Lou Steele, Margie May Steele, Gladys Christensen and Don Miller. Jesse" the "youngsoh of Mr7andj Mrs. Phillip Green was taken to the Lehi hospital Tuesday night ' where he had his appendix removed. He is getting along nicely. Miss Mable Huggard and Mrs. Annie Greenwood ' entertained the Cherrio Bridge Club last Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Warren War-ren Boley. High score was won by Miss Vera Bush. Special guests were Mrs. Warren Boley and Mrs. Frank Huggard. A very pleasant evening was spent and an attractive luncheon lunch-eon was served to the following members: Mrs. Edith Monson, Mrs. Juanita Butte, Mrs. Agnes Hicks, Mrs. Clara Doyle, Miss Genevieve Saul, Miss Delia Carson, Mrs. Lu-cinda Lu-cinda Barratt, Miss Vera Bush, and Miss Emily Brazee. |
