Show o ADAMS CAMP HOLDS INTERESTING MEETING The Adams Camp, Daughters of Utah Pioneers, met Thursday afternoon, after-noon, April 12th, in the tabernacle. Captain Elizabeth McAllister was in charge. Following the singing of "Come Come Ye Saints," prayer was offered of-fered by Charlotte D. Shelley. Miss Edith Chadwick sang, accompanied by Miss Elaine Smith. At this point the program was turned over to Mrs. Cynthia Okey and the numbers num-bers given were: Reading, "Folks That Smile" by Blanche Devey; Sketch of the lives of Edwin Okey and Mary Pitt Okey by their granddaughter, Bertha Okey Schreiber; solo, "Old Spinning Wheel," Lucile Okey, accompanied by La Docia Wagstaff; readings, "When Grandmother Cooked With Wood" and "Grandmother's Beau," Mary E. Webb; reading, "Erastus' Sunday Pants," Edith Anderson; reading, "Criticism," Merling D. Clyde; lesson on American Fork's first fire department, Mary Anderson; Ander-son; duet "There's A Light In the Window," Alice Stewart and Alice Christensen, accompanied by La Docia Wagstaff; benediction, Charlotte; Char-lotte; Greenwood. The Service Star Legion met at the home of Mrs. Nan Peck Wednesday afternoon. The election of officers was taken up Mrs. Laura Dunklcy being elected president; Mrs. Helen Mercer, 1st vice-president; Mrs. Nan Peck, 2nd vice-president; Mrs. Mae Laursen, secretary; Miss Thelma Larson, treasurer; Mrs. Priscilla Murdock, historian; Mrs. Llllie Brown, chaplain. Two solos were rendered by Mrs. Jennie Chadwick, accompanied by Mrs. Inez Karren; Mrs. Mae Laursen Laur-sen gave a reading; two piano solos were played by Miss Evelyn Peck. The delegates to the state convention conven-tion on May 4th and 5th, will be chosen later. j |
