Show THIRD WARD M. I. A. ENJOYS SNAPPY MINSTREL The rninstrel, which was given in the Third ward amusement hall Saturday night was an outstanding success and was enjoyed by a large crowd. Frank Newman, as interlocutor, kept the show moving with his snappy questions. Niel Fugpi as Aster, and Hal Farr as Flax, kept the crowd in a high state of excitement when they had a duel with hay knives, Vance West and Duane Anderson in the characters of Evergreen and I Buttercup, held the crowd spell-j spell-j bound with their fluent oratory and j Imaginative experiences. Cactus and Dandelion portrayed : by Calvin Walker and Ernest Clay-jton, Clay-jton, did their part to keep the crowdw in an uproar. ! Snappy Negro songs were sung by each of the six end men and Harold Hardiman and Clarence Hil- ton. Ben Benson and his daughter daugh-ter sang a duet. ( The fifteen chorus members did their share to make the show a huge success. ' |
