Show Greetings From 1934 Mayor Elect W. W. Lim The citizens of Pleasant Grove are looking forward to the New Year, with hopes for more prosperous times. We have an ideal place to live with climate unequalled, good homes and a fine community life, brought about by a fine citizenry and good public officials. As mayor of Pleasant Grove in the years 1934-5, 1934-5, with a fine group of officers to assist me, I should like to follow along the economical lines of our former officers. We will be on the lookout for all things for progressive city betterment. Our City Water is an asset to the health of our people, being 98 per cent pure. We want to at all times guard our water supply and take care of the water system, that all citizens can be properly served and all homes be properly protected from fire hazards. We commend the former city officials for purchase of their fine new fire truck, and the firemen for then-interested then-interested attitude in properly equipping equip-ping it. I shall ever stand back of all city improvements, in the way of city parks, sidewalks, streets, etc. The next city council shouid follow the same fine plan for cemetery upkeep and beautification. The distribution distribu-tion of all government funds placed in our hands shall be handled ac cording to our best judgment of those who are in direct need. We will stand for the best city government govern-ment possible anr hope for peace and prosperity in the coming years. Sincerely, W. W. Lim, Mayor Elect. |
