Show THE CITIZEN AND REVIEW COMMENCING TODAY Alpine Stake Relief Society Conference Marked Success The semi-annual conference of the Alpine Stake Relief Society convened in the Alpine Stake Tabernacle Sunday, Sun-day, September 29. At 8:30 a. m- the Utah on account of the sturdy pioneer spirit inherited, also in morality, cooperation in the home, and those things so needed in the. perfect performance per-formance of this work. Luncheon was served at the tabernacle taber-nacle during the noon hour. President Christensen again presided pre-sided at the afternoon meeting. In her opening remarks, she gave a brief nine months report of the Relief Re-lief Societies of Alpine Stake. Hannah Ashby of the Stake board spoke on the subject "What Is Our Community Doing Toward Supplementing Supple-menting the Home in the Proper Supervision of Places of Recreation, Employment, etc". Mrs. Knight spoke on "The Responsibility Re-sponsibility of the Home and the Community In Safeguarding the Youth". President Jensen of the Jordan Stake expressed her pleasure in meeting with the Alpine Stake, and felt it was a good thing in Relief Society work to change ideas with others. President C. E- Young and President Presi-dent Earl S. Greenwood both spoke, encouraging the sisters in Relief Society work. Musical numbers during the conference con-ference consisted of a chorus under the leadership of Edith G- Young singing "Hail To The Brightness", "Come Dearest Lord" and "Take Courage," a vocal solo "My Task" by Mrs. Young and a vocal duet by the Sifters Cleghorn and Bateman of Alpine. Executive officers met with the Jennie B. Knight of the General Board. The time in this session was spent in a round table discussion of Relief Society problems. At 9 a- m. the Stake Board joined the Executive officers, at which time a questionaire was taken up by Mrs- Knight on the different activities of Relief Society. At 10 a. m. the general assembly met, with President Maud Christen, sen presiding and in charge. President Presi-dent Earl S. Greenwood of the stake presidency. Jennie B. Knight of the General Relief Society board, and President Jensen and five other board members of the Jordan Stake Relief Society were is attendance. Following words of welcome by President Christensen, Ivy Steele of the Stake board, took up "Child Health In Our Community," giving statistics and other valuable information infor-mation in regard to community health. Mrs. Knight spoke on "Relict Society Social- Service", explaining the improvements made in this line of work. Mrs. Pearl Romney Chipman, who fs doing social service work in New York, spoke following Mrs. Knight's remarks. She said conditions were not so much different there than in |
