The ordinance is given in the legal column of this issue. E J. Clayson appeared before the council and reported that the display dis-play put on by American Fork at the County Fair has been successful and that the exhibit had taken first place. He stated further that as chairman of the Fair committee from this community, he felt that in as much a? the Farm Bureau had furnished all the fruit, vegetables, etc., and that the Lioss Club was unable to assist financially, the council should retract re-tract its former action of appropriating appropriat-ing $25 for 'this work and should pay the entire expense of G0 as per the bill presented. After some discussion, it was moved that the city pay the I fntire amount. Judge Adolph Nielsen presented several suggestive changes which he felt should be made in the new ordinances. After some consideration, considera-tion, the changes as suggested were accepted by the council, and referred to the attorney for this consideration. considera-tion. The condition of the streets at 2nd North and 3rd North between 4th and 6th East was referred to the Street committee with power to act. The matter of turning the $75 held by the Celebration committee to Axel Bloomquist as part payment on the new sign was referred to the mayor The matter of taking such action as was necessary to guarantee rent from properties owned by the City by Auditor's Deeds from the present tenants was referred to the recorder to consult with the attorney. The matter of ascertaining whether or not it was lawful to use 50 gallon drums for delivering gas to various customers with the corporate limits of the City was also referred to the city attorney. The reports of the city officers for the month of September were read and accepted. |
