Show HOME OWNERS TO VIE FOR XMAS PRIZES RECREATION COMMITTEE COMMIT-TEE SPONSORS CONTEST Another Christmas Home Decoration Decora-tion contest! For scores of home-owners who are looking forward to decorating their residences to extend a Christmas Christ-mas message, announcement of another an-other Home Decoration contest is welcome news. The contest will be launched this week-end, sponsored, as last year, by the City Recreation committee. Members of the committee in charge of the contest are Mrs. William Chipman, Mrs. J. W. Myers, Mrs. Delbert Chipman, Mrs. W. R. Halli-day Halli-day and Mrs. Leo G. Meredith. The contest last year brought good response, its success being evidenced evi-denced by the number of homes so colorfully and artistically decorated for the holiday season. This year the number of contestants is expected ex-pected to be greater than ever before, be-fore, with many entering for the first time and others who contested last year vying for the valuable prizes. Originality, simplicity, artistic and festive appeal will weigh heavily in the judging. Residents, who generally gen-erally place a candle in the window and a holly wreath on the door, with only a little extra effort may create a holiday decoration scheme worthy of being entered in the con- test. Trees and shrubs may be decorated, deco-rated, as well as the exterior of the house. Those wishing to enter the contest con-test may do so simply by filling out the application blank printed in this issue of the Citizen, mail or leave the blank at the Citizen office before be-fore December 22, and then proceed to decorate their house. The committee announced that the contest will include only one division house exteriors. The committee com-mittee also announced that the valuable val-uable prizes will all be electrical appliances. ap-pliances. All entries must be lighted the entire en-tire week from December 24 to January Jan-uary 2. The decision of the judges will be final. |
