Section Has Increase Of 19 In Enrollment An . increase of 19 in the number of pupils enrolled full-time in schools of Pleasant Grove and the surrounding section is revealed by the 1938 school census, as compared with that for 1937. A decrease of 48 in the total number num-ber of children of school age in the section is noted, with the school population according to the October 31 count being 1127. Last year, there were 1175. However, there has been a substantial sub-stantial decrease in the number of children who are of school age but who are not enrolled. Last year, ', there were 102 who did not attend school, whether legally excused or not. According to this year's count, there are only 35. or a decrease of 67. This improved record accounts j for the increase in enrollment in the J face of the decreased school-age ; population. Boys outnumber girls, as in other sections of the Alpine district. Of the total number of children of school age, 568 are boys and 559 are girls. Last year there were 622 boys and 553 girls. The total of 35 who are not enrolled, en-rolled, though of school age, includes 18 boys and 17 girls. The census reports the total school-age population 1 for the dis- trict as 5386, of which 149 are not enrolled in school.
