Mrs. Grace Jensen entertained Wednesday in honor of the birthday birth-day anniversary of Mrs. Elizabeth Coddington. A large birthday -cake centered the luncheon table, and the rooms were effectively decorated. Attending besides the guest of honor were Mrs. Lawrence Briggs, Mrs. Lillie Wilde, Mrs. Mabel Adamson, Mrs. Hor tense Allen, Mrs. Addie Chipman, Mrs. Clara Larsen of Lehi, and Mrs. Maacah Devey. The Bee Orchis club met Friday of last week at the home of Mrs. Bertha S'agers. Mrs. G. W. Robbins of Cottonwood Cotton-wood is visiting with her sister, Mrs. G. S. Richards, here. The evening eve-ning was spent in playing games, and a luncheon was served to the 17 young women attending. Mrs. James Preston was hostess to members of the Young Bridge club at her home last Friday afternoon. after-noon. The time was spent in playing play-ing bridge, after which a hot lunch was served. High score prize was won by Mrs. Leon Parduhn, and consolation award went to Mrs. Thomas Reece. Mrs. Keith Nielson was a special guest. Roy Winn of Roy, Idaho, is visiting vis-iting at the E. W. Kenneth Singleton returned Saturday Sat-urday from Chicago, after a five weeks' stay there. Mr. and Mrs. George Moss, formerly form-erly of American Fork, were surprised sur-prised when they were awarded a turkey at the Rio Grande railroad employes' dance, Thursday night of last week at the Rainbow gardens. However, the surprise was doubled when Mrs. David Cahn was awarded the second turkey. Mr. and Mrs. Cahn and Mr. and Mrs. Moss were in the same party. Beautiful Singing Canaries. A former teacher and one of his pupils met again, after an interval of 48 years in which they had not seen each other, at the golden wedding wed-ding reception for Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Searle last Friday evening. The teacher is Irving I. Pratt of this city, and his one-time pupil, James Searle of Ogden. When Mr. Searle was introduced to Mr. Pratt, the former recalled Mr. Pratt as his former teacher, and greeted him warmly. When it was recalled that Mr. Pratt taught in the school at Vernal 48 years ago, where Mr. Searle was a pupil, the two spent some time in pleasant reminiscing. |
