The launch really began with he inflation and departure of the big Bank of American Fork hot air "II balloon at 10 a.m. Following this excitement, the children released hundreds of multicolored multi-colored balloons into the air. Balloons Bal-loons had the name and address of lne school on a card which was attached to the string of the balloon. bal-loon. A drawing was held in which irizes, including three Nintendos, are given away. Winners were Me Wangemann, Brandon Kirk aid Jason Feher. I o- The children had raised $3,567 which will be used for Emergency Preparedness materials at the school. First aid kits will be purchased pur-chased and mini-grants will be given to the teachers. Cash donations were encouraged and classes leading in the most collections each week received treats such as cookies or doughnuts. They even had a teacher dunking day. The PTA had encouraged donations dona-tions of $10 per person or $25 per family. Everyone received a Subway coupon for a child's meal. The fundraiser was kicked off a few weeks ago with an assembly which had the theme "Be an Eagle, Be the Best You Can Be." The Aspen mascot is the Eagle. |
