Show Children's parade will have new route Valerie Edlefson, chairman of the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Children's Parade, has announced that the parade will follow a different differ-ent route this year. The parade will be held on Wednesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. and will proceed from the Pleasant Grove High School drag strip to the parking park-ing lot exit on 200 South, down 200 South to Locust Ave., across Locust to the drag strip and east on the drag strip to the starting point. The children will be lined up according to LDS Stake bounda ries. All children, regardless of religious affiliation, are invited to participate. The lineup on the dragstrip will begin at the east end or portion closest to the high school. Manila Stake will line up first with Timpanogos, Tim-panogos, Pleasant Grove, Lindon and Pleasant Grove East Stake following. Children must be lined up and ready to go at 6:45 p.m. Valerie said that children age 5 and under must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult. No child may leave the parade while enroute except with an entire unit. Wagons and strollers are the only wheeled vehicles allowed. Bikes, trikes, big wheels, skateboards skate-boards and roller skates are not allowed. At the conclusion of the parade, participants will receive free Pop-sicles Pop-sicles and carnival tickets. In addition to the parade, prizes will be awarded for best float and best costumes. This judging wil take place at the Little League diamonds just south of the drag strip. |
