Show Economic development video readied to promote Utah Valley Taping is nearly complete on Utah Power & Light Company's economic development video for Utah Valley. The company is working work-ing closely with businesses and government agencies to promote the advantages of living and working work-ing in Utah Valley. Interviews have involved the following people: Allan Ashton, president and CEO of WordPerfect; WordPer-fect; Neil Bullock, Sign' tics plant manager; Susan Mooney, CEO at the Pleasant Grove subsidiary of Mack Truck; Karen Stewart, Commission Com-mission for Economic Development of Orem; Richard Bradford, Utah Valley Economic Development Association; and Kathy Buckner, Small Business Development Center. Cen-ter. "It's important that people realize real-ize what this community has to offer," stated Utah Power's Southern South-ern Region Manager, Lee Drew. "By highlighting the opportunities ' and business support services available avail-able here, we think we can stimulate stimu-late new ventures to start up and existing businesses to expand." Mr. Drew commented that the company's continuing series of rate decreases, five since 1988, are already al-ready helping area businesses to become more competitive. |
