(Photo by John Hill) PGHS tracksters enter state meet in the Kegion 8 tracK meet hem last week at Spanish Fork, the following Pleasant Grove athletes earned points. Rhonda Simmons was the region champion in the 100 meter hurdles and Craig Hayden was champion in the boys' high jump. Other girls who were point winners win-ners were Shanna Nielsen (2-shot put), Korrine Estes, (5-shot put), Kirsten Van Dyke (5-400 meters), Korrine Estes (5-discus). Sherilyn Patch, Karen Christensen, Kirsten VanDyke and Lena Kerr were second in the medley relay. Other boys who won points were Jason Lutes (2-discus), Eric Cook (4-3200 meters), Hayden (2-long jump), Ron Mayo (6-javelin), Lutes (5-110 high hurdles), Bill Larsen (4- 4uu meier&v anu ui y vvaiuunuii 400 meters). The boys' medley relay of Ron Mayo, Cory Warburton, Bill Lansen and Eric Cook qualified for the state meet which will be held at Weber State in Ogden later this week. Others who qualified for state are Eric Cook in the 3200m run, and the 1600m run; Jason Lutes in the discuss; Craig Hayden in the long jump and the high jump; Bill Larsen in the 400m run. Girls who qualified include the girls medley relay team of Sherilynn Patch, Karen Christensen, Kirsten Van Dyke and Lena Kerr with Mindy Hall as alternate; Shanna Nielsen in the shotput; Rhonda Simmons in the 100 m. hurdles; and Korvie Estes in the discuss. . |
