Hamby and Tina Marie Peaslee. The Pleasant Grove Senior Seminary will hold its annual graduation on Sunday, May 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the American Fork Tabernacle. The theme for this year's graduation program is "Five Smooth Stones." Presiding at the graduation exercises will be Elder F. David Stanley, Regional Representative. The hosting stake president is Grant K. Fugal. Floris Olsen will be the organist and Janilyn Patch will be the musical director. Kris Brinkerhoff will give the invocation and Scott Flinders, seminary president, will give the welcome and introduce the theme. Speakers will be Suzanne Draney, Eric Cook, Gayla Davis, Stephen Van Orden, and Susan Nielson. Musical selections will be by Lisa Brown and a senior quartet, both accompanied by Floris Olsen. Principal David Beagley will present the graduates. Pres. Fugal will accept the class and present the diplomas and certificates. The names will be read by Ted Gibbons and Richard Hubert. Elder Shumway is formerly from Pleasant Grove. He is the son of Willie Shumway of Lehi and Kay G. Shumway of Pleasant Grove. He served in the Italy Catania Mission. Mrs. Carol Beus will accompany the choirs. The choirs at American Heritage have a g reputation of presenting fine music suited especially to children's voices. This concert will be their final concert for this school year. Miss Asay said that these two choirs have been particularly outstanding this year. Jewkes Poppy Day set to raise funds for disabled vets The annual Poppy Day will be held on Saturday, May 28, in Pleasant Grove. The little red poppies are given to each person who donates money to assist handicapped U.S. veterans. Girls and Boys State delegates will be assisting in selling the little poppies. All citizens are encouraged to give as much as possible to this wor-thwhile project. |
